Whats the good of news if you dont have a sister to share it with.

sis·ter·hood  (sstr-hd)
n.
1. The state or relationship of being a sister or sisters.
2. The quality of being sisterly.
3. A society, especially a religious society, of women.
4. Association or unification of women in a common cause.

Above will define what sisters are but it really is so much more than that. A sister is a forever friend.

Sisters don't need words. They have perfected a language of snarls and smiles and frowns and winks - expressions of shocked surprise and incredulity and disbelief. Sniffs and snorts and gasps and sighs - that can undermine any tale you're telling.

Things that make me think of US!

DiscoWisco

This weekend Bud & I are taking off to Chris' lake house in Rome, WI or as he would describe it:

I would like to invite this select group to the Leggee Lakehouse Experience located in beautiful Rome, WI the weekend of August 26-28th. To those that have not been, It's a lot like Rome, Italy, just minus the thousand year old monuments and the head of the world's Catholics doesn't live nearby. Instead Rome, WI offers a plethora of sketchy dive bars that resemble someone's living room, enough fine cheese and beer to make your heart have to pump a little harder, and a Wal-Mart that is regarded as the Macy's of region.  We will typically make a trip to the Super Wal-Mart mainly just to people watch and buy items one would only wear while in Wisconsin, these items usually center around camouflage and The Green Bay Packers.. Other activites will include, but are not limited to: boating, drinking, campfires, tire swing riding, golf, drinking, hide-and-seek tournament, cooking out, drinking, hop-scotch, and lightening bug gathering.

What to pack?! So far my overnight bag includes......

Burberry Black Bikini

Classic JCrew button down to wear on boat

Light hearted sunglasses

Sperry's

Striped mini for those sketch dive bars

Navajo Cardigan by the fire. Must.

Weekend updates and many pictures to come after this weekend getaway to ROME,WI

PS - Go Pack Go

This post would not have been possible without the help of my personal assistant. Marley.

SnackSnackSnack

When 3 o'clock rolls around I need my snackers.

I work from home 2 days a week and in the office 2 days a week, I find myself snacking at home way more at home so I only try to keep these items as my daily snacks:

Fage Yogurt. I eat this every single day. Honey. Strawberry. Blueberry. The yogurt is 100% natural. FAGE is made without any extra ingredients, additives, preservatives, thickeners or stabilizers.  Plain yogurt should basically have only two ingredients: milk and live active yogurt cultures. That’s all you’ll get when you eat FAGE.

Avocados. Tasty. Tasty. AND not to mention great for your heart, eye health and prevention of breast cancer. I eat these plain with a little bit of salt.

La Croix. Doesn't seem like much of a snack BUT this sparkling water will help suppress hunger and is very refreshing. We never run out this at my apartment. Favorite Flavor: Grapefruit.

Oh and my favorite snack of all time with ZERO health benefits: TWIZZLERS.

Perry's Stage

It's August and we are in the homestretch. Bye Bye glorious Chicago Summer. Patios. Street Festivals. Music Festival. Lauren&KristasCourtYard. Beach. Al Fresco Dining. Cocktails. Cocktails. Cocktails.

Here's the Wrap for the first part of August:

We waited till last minute (never again) to buy our Lolla tickets. We were desperate. $180 for a 1 day pass but worth it. This was my first year in 4 years not to go the entire weekend (tear). Bands that we loved to see perform:

GIRL TALK - our Headliner pick!

That next night Bud got tix to see Foo Fighters at The Metro - super cozy - super amazing - Dave Grohl is a super babe.

We went to see Peter Pan 360 on broadway this past week. An outdoor tent transforms into a mystical Peter Pan adventure complete with Lost Boys, Tinkerbell, Pirates and Never Never Land. We found our inner Tinkerbell (and a real Tinkerbell head piece) before we "flew" home safely.

Monday night in Cuba.

Why are Monday's always so dreaded? I am guilty of it. Bud and I usually go home and sit on the couch and make every excuse to not work out and not have fun. I like fun.

Yesterday Bud and I went to try a new restaurant 90 Miles Cuban Cafe...amaze.amaze.amaze. AND...BYOB - we brought Rum and they mixed a pitcher of homemade mojitos for us. We sat on the back patio where they had hanging candles, trees, large fans and cuban music. We ordered all the recommendations from our waiter and it was better than we hoped for. It didn't feel so much like Monday anymore.

This video is the closest we will ever get to Cuba - enjoy!

Dog Days Are Over

Friday Rituals - on Friday's I always celebrate the week being over with music and an extra large (skinny) latte :)

Dog Days Are Over , although this song came on this morning so I feel obligated to include Never Tear Us Apart!

Bud and I are having a Chicago Staycation (Groupon sponsored) this weekend - nice and "cheap" way to feel like you are getting away and try new (nerdy) things.....

Tonight we are trying Magnolia Cafe - mouth watering at the sound of their short ribs.

Saturday we are going on a Chicago Chocolate Tour - I am realllly hoping for a Willy Wonka chocolate river.....

My street fest attendance has been slacking this summer - goal is to try and stop by Taste of Lincoln for some beers and local street tent nom's.

Sunday the one and only Paul McCartney will be performing live at Wrigley Field, since tickets were going for about $300 a piece (which is still totally worth it) we decided to skip....I am going to try and drag Bud toWrigley just for a small chance I can hear sweet Paul's voice coming from the field :)

Cheers to the weekend!
